Ack!
« on: November 30, 2005, 02:10:03 PM »
There have been three thread title's in the past two day's that have used apostrophe's to form plural's. I hate to be a Nazi about these thing's, but this is one that really makes me cringe. I was *this* close to posting a public service announcement explaining the correct usage of apostrophe's and their non-relationship in general with pluralization. But then I decided that would be mean.

Rather than be mean, I've decided to opt for passive-aggressive gossip.

I remember the good old days, when you had to stand in line to correct someone's spelling or grammar.

Yeah Ela, I've been having to almost physically restrain myself from making that post myself.  I cringe every time I see one of those threads on the main page.  I'm not sure why that mistake stands out to me so much more than others do, but it doe's.
I wish more people were able to be like me.

I hope you have a wonderful adventure in Taiwan. Not a swashbuckling adventure, just a prawn flavored pringles adventure.

I would if it weren't so problematic.

1. Whose dialect gets to be the worldwide standard?
2. How do you teach people the new system?
3. What do you do about everything written the old way?

By the way, just to be serious for a moment, you are aware that I deliberately misspelled the word grammar, right?
