When does one use supercede the other?

Use "whore" in scriptural senses, as in "Yea, verily, thou art a great and abominable whore, Patrick who is surnamed Poyfair." Use "ho" in a more urban sense, as in "You a crazy stupid ho, Pat."

As regards the original question, I believe if you are a polar elf of the jolly variety, the preferred term is "Ho."

Let me get this straight:

Whore is pronounced "Hor", right?
And Ho is pronounced "Ho".

Everyone I know reads "Whore" as "Ho". I've always been tremendously confused.

Everyone you know is reading it wrong. "Ho" is nothing more than an African-American version of "whore."

Edit: Maybe they're just weird Canadians who don't pronounce their r's.
