I pointed someone to this forum this past weekend, forgetting that a lot of the best threads (maybe even all of the etymology threads) had been wiped out back in the Great Forum Crash of '05.  Now when she comes to check the place out she's going to think that I'm insane.

Quick!  Post something of an etymological nature!  Or something talking about the flaws in the Sapir-Wharf hypothesis!  Or something!

Actually, I think it was the Forum Crash of September '04. There are a lot of threads still here, but you have to change the setting to show all the threads from the beginning.

Yeah, I did that--they only went back to Feb '05, so I assumed that the crash had been right at the first of the year.  Maybe there were multiple pages, and I was just being an idiot though.
