I always say "ECK-onomics", but lately on the radio, they keep talking about "EEK-onomics. What do you say? And are you more likely to go "EEK!" when the economy is scary?
I think that's what's happening to the radio people.

As usual, I lack consistancy.
Maybe we should contract it to " 'nomics".
-
I voted for eckonomics because that's what I say.
But I often say eekonomical or eekonomy. Not sure why I'm not consistent.
-
I think everyone says 'eekonomy'...but you are weird with the 'eekonomical' thing. Maybe not. *walks around muttering the word over and over again* I'm not sure if I'm consistent either.

I think everyone says 'eekonomy'
Nope. It's ih-, not ee-, konomy.
-
Nope. It's either.

I hereby promise not to do m-w.com flybys. I'm always wrong if I try to check a pronunciation in 30 seconds.

My daughter is taking Home Eek.

My daughter is taking Home Eek.
Yeah. That was my poor family's evaluation of my skills as well.
