The checkers at the supermarket call women older than themselves "sweetie". They call women younger than themselves "baby".

Our waitress the other day at lunch (who was in her 40s) called my boss "baby". He's 59, with a full head of really white hair. I almost shot Diet Coke out of my nose.

It's not like this side has ever been very active. I guess I've slacked off on my "random etymology of the day" thread.

Do you know what would help this side? If you got laid off again.

I'm not sure what you even mean by that.

No doubt.

I guess it was a straw man jab at yourYour English Blog (http://www.galacticcactus.com/english/). After all, you do say you don't hate Latin as much as some people.

I left an important word out of this second statement which completely changed its meaning. I couldn't figure out why Jon Boy doing what mph suggested would help get this side jumping again.

Wow, that made me go beyond snorting to a voiceless velar fricative.
-
I skipped the key word too, JT. Made Jon Boy's response to Porter's post all the more entertaining, I have to say.

Get your minds out of the gutter, people! <_<

Why?

That smiley doesn't really go with an exclamation point, I think.

No new posts since May 18th. Just sayin, is all.
I should really do something with my novel.
I should really do a lot of stuff.
