I've taken to using "anymore" when I mean something like "these days"--at the beginning of a sentence instead of the end, and not necessarily with a negation--because I've heard it around and, for some inexplicable reason, find it charming.
You?

Huh. The board tacks the topic description right on the end of the topic, and not under it. Interesting.

My son thinks the yellow guy in your avatar is pac man.
Where is the line between thinking "anymore" is charming and thinking all lower-case, no punctuation, no paragraph breaks is charming? I guess it boils down to taste.
-
I think there's more to it than that. If a quirkiness does not interfere with the conveying of meaning, then it is benign (and could even be an incidence of language drift). If I say, "Anymore, I find myself posting on Sakeriver more than on Hatrack," you may note the oddity, but you have no difficulty parsing it. People who don't punctuate, don't break paragraphs, and don't use capitals are much harder to understand, I find.

Uh . . . I had enough difficulty parsing it that I had to refer back to your earlier post to figure out what you meant. *shrug*

Apparently Rivka doesn't speak Hick.

This is news?

When I'm around people whose usage isn't perfect, I often say "less" where I technically should say "fewer." I feel hoity toity saying "fewer" around them, though.
-
"Fewer" doesn't make me feel that way at all, but sometimes saying I am well does.

*slightly freaked*
I never noticed before now that the eyes in Ic's avatar move.
IT'S LOOKING AT ME!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

Apparently Rivka doesn't speak Hick.
Apparently I don't, either.

*giggle*
You're the first to notice, rivka. They didn't move, before last night. As soon as I figured out how to make an animated GIF, that's the second thing I did. I was wondering how long it would take someone to notice, if I didn't point it out! :D

Uh . . . happy to help?
