Title: Forum Group Names
Post by: saxon75 on November 17, 2004, 09:11:35 AM
Icarus just coined the term "Cactite" on the other side, which got me to thinking about how I find the concept of group names and nicknames so interesting.  I suppose we could talk about that in this thread, but really I just wanted a place to list out all of the names I've seen applied to different forum "ethnicities."

Hatrack: Hatracker, Jatraquero
GreNME: Grenmetic
Mad Owl: NoMO
Galactic Cactus: Cactite
Sakeriver: Saquero

Am I missing any?

Did you just make Saquero up?  Haven't heard that one before.  I don't have one for my site, but off the top of my head, Smaqtards has a nice ring to it.  Hmmm.

I've mostly seen "Galactiquero." "Cactite" is a new one.

I've never seen NoMo before. What's that mean?

I didn't make up Saquero, but it doesn't see a lot of use.  I think eslaine may have made it up.

NoMO is an acronym that stands for "Ninja(s) of Mad Owl."

I did a little poking around and it looks like it was actually Icarus who came up with "Saquero."

*preen*

It was David Bowles who came up with both "Jatraquero" and "GreNMEtic."

No.  I prefer the term "sakesan"
