It’s a Boy
That’s right—we just had the ultrasound this morning, and the little Nerdling is unequivocably male. The ultrasound four weeks ago showed a little blobby thing with nubbins for arms and legs, but this time we could see individual fingers and toes (ten of each, I presume—I didn’t stop to count), including all the individual finger and toe bones. It was sort of freaky and cool and indescribably cute.
Now we just need to start working on our list of potential names. We’ve already got a few names in mind, but now we can start thinking about them a little more seriously. I don’t think he’d appreciate being saddled with the name Nerdling for the rest of his life, and I don’t think Ruth would approve, anyway.

Congratulations! I assume you are planning on naming him Orson . . .C’mon, you owe him!

Maybe I was wrong; maybe I do know who you are—or rather, you know who I am.
But I could never curse a child of mine with the name Orson. However, a poll on the forum shows that we should raise him to be a Jedi, so maybe we could call him Obi-Wan.

Congratulations. Maybe you should hold a contest, and one of *us* (BBers or Poetasters) should come up with the name. (Bet Ruth would love that.)

Yeah, that’s right. Ruth might object to a group of strangers naming our baby, but I’ll be fine with it. Uh-huh.
